About Katrina Aid Today
Katrina Aid Today is a consortium of 10 social service and voluntary organizations, led by UMCOR dedicated to helping survivors navigate the system to recover from this tragic disruption of their lives.
- Our specially trained managers will help about 100,000 families identify sources of support, develop personal recovery plans, acquire access to services and take appropriate actions to rebuild their lives.
- The consortium organizations have nationwide reach, or access to special groups such as persons with languages other than English, and in-depth experience in the type of assistance being offered by Katrina Aid Today.
- Katrina Aid Today is sponsored by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) of the United States Department of Homeland Security using donations from the international community.
- Katrina Aid Today is administered by the United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR), the humanitarian development agency of the United Methodist Church, which has provided practical support to disaster survivors throughout the world for the past 65 years. We assist people of all religions.
